What is TNVR?
"T.N.V.R." stands for "Trap, Neuter, Vet, Release".
TNVR is very important to keep down the population of the stray cat community,
whose numbers are getting larger every day.
Many cats that are trapped are considered "feral", meaning they are essentially wild animals
and cannot live in a home, and would be happiest returned to the outdoors.
Fully vetted cats that have been returned to the outdoors will get their ear tipped (they do this
while the cat is unconcious, and they get an injectible pain med afterwards), so they can be
identified by fellow trappers as a cat that has already been vetted.
What About the NON-Feral Cats We Trap?
Cats that can tolerate people but do not prefer to be indoors, or cats that are medically unfit
to be humanely released, are often adopted out as "barn cats" or "working cats".
We have a Barn Cat Program here at Playful Paws for our trapped cats that would love to live on your property!
